Forever and Always-Prologue

This is a story I wrote for my Nobody, Xeyin, at 3:00 am in the morning. I might decide to continue with it.

I waved my hand in front of my face, still amazed at the ability I had gained to create a portal of darkness that could take me anywhere. I stepped through the billowing blackness and found myself in Holloween Town. Actually it was more like Christmas Town, since I had portaled there first.

I bit my lip nervously. Our Superior had sent me on my very first mission. Alone.

"Let's just see how you do. How you handle a battle." Xemnas had declared, upon my asking about my solitary status.

I knew better. Since I had the ability to read people's minds, I knew that Xemnas wasn't just sending me on a single's mission. No, he wanted to be rid of me. He wanted me to fade back into nothingness, to see me die without my getting my heart back.

I'd overheard him talking to Saix earlier. About me. About how I had been a mistake. Unlike Roxas, who had a duty to the Organization, I really was never supposed to exist. I had no purpose in this nonexistent life and I needed to be disposed of before I dragged the whole of Organization XIII down with me.

I had felt something stir within me and tears had splashed unabashed on my cold hands. Was it sorrow? Was it rage? Bitterness? Hatred? Regret even? I didn't know. I knew that we as Nobodies were not supposed to feel anything, since we didn't have hearts and all. But in that moment, I hated Xemnas. He actually made me feel worthless and unloved.

Now those feelings welled up inside of me again. I stomped hard on the snowy ground, glaring at the Christmas lights that were failing to do their 'cheering up' duty.

I walked ahead, facing my inevitable first battle with the powerful Keyblade weilder. The Denizen of Light who put fear into even Xemnas himself. Sora.

I saw him as I walked up over the hill. His posture, although his back was turned to me, told the signs of alertness. The way he kept his hand on the hilt of the Oblivion Keyblade showed the presence of mind that he was ready for battle at any moment.

I stepped across the crunchy snow, hands on my Paintbrush Blade, as the boy from the Realm of Light turned around. He brandished his Keyblade and I stopped walking.

My name is Xeyin and I am a Nobody.

This is my story.
